Melissa & Taylor | Nashville, TN

From a heartfelt rehearsal dinner the night before up to the reception dancing with party glasses and Jeni’s ice cream the following evening - Melissa & Taylor’s wedding at Saint Elle was absolutely amazing!

Melissa & Taylor met in college at the University of Tennessee. They enjoyed a margarita tour around East Nashville for their first date, stopping at places such as Rosepepper Cantina, Pearl Diver, Walden’s, and Mickey’s. When it came time for Taylor to propose, he chose the beautiful setting of Cheekwood Gardens amidst the tulips. Before the proposal, Taylor asked their friend Kayla to capture it, and she gladly accepted!

Choosing the perfect venue wasn’t the easiest, but it was essential! Melissa has been a bridesmaid 10 times and knew what she wanted. Saint Elle checked all the boxes - it was open but warm, moody but light, and who couldn’t love that bar!? After countless hours on Instagram and Pinterest, Melissa envisioned a minimalist and timeless theme, which Taylor was on board with - they wanted to look back at their wedding photos/videos in 20 years and still love them. The color scheme consisted of lots of black, white, and greenery, with pops of Fall colors in the bouquets.

Being married by Melissa’s cousin-in-law made their ceremony even more special. Still, the most unique moment was including the prayer that Melissa’s grandfather wrote (~the last 2 minutes of their film)! It truly embodied the love they felt from their family/friends that day. When it came to the reception, Melissa and Talor said, “the reception was the best night of their lives to put it simply.” They had asked specifically for no slow songs so that the dance floor was always fun, and Emerald Empire delivered! Music is a big part of Melissa & Taylor’s lives, so live music that they could dance to the entire time (under disco balls) was a must! The night ended with party glasses and Jeni’s ice cream being handed out to all of the guests.

Melissa & Taylor’s favorite memory of the day was reading the letters they wrote to each other. Melissa said, “it was such a sweet moment they were able to have captured on film, and it made them even more excited for their first look!”

For the couple’s planning their wedding, Melissa & Taylor’s advice is to make sure to spend time with each other! Melissa said, “we literally made sure to take bathroom breaks at the same time, so that way when we were in the reception, we could be together.”

2022 was a fantastic year, and I was able to document so many weddings. Melissa and Taylor's was a highlight of those weddings and a beautiful representation of their love for each other, passion for music, and eye for style and design.
